YOUTH FENCING DAY CAMP

Join us for a fun-filled camp (full and half day) with a focus on the art of the Olympic sport of sword fighting. This camp is designed for individuals between 8 and 14 years of age and for anyone without any previous experience, or anyone interested in brushing up on their fencing skills!

Attendees will have fun learning the history of the sport, the various weapon styles, and of course...fence with swords!! Fencing is one of the safest sports and students also learn teamwork and leadership skills.

Full Day Camp (9AM to 3PM) teaches the skills of the Olympic sport of fencing, martial arts, stage combat, and more. Half Day Camp will be fencing only (9AM to 12PM)

All equipment is provided for the duration of the session, and each camper will make a craft to take home.

There are two basic differences:

Foil is a “point” weapon and Saber is a "slashing" weapon and the rules and positions are slightly different. With either weapon, your goal is to make a touch before your opponent does. In Foil, you will need to extend and thrust the tip of the weapon into the valid target area, while in Saber, you can thrust and cut using the blade edge to score.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FOIL AND SABRE?
