LEGO Robotics and Fencing Camp
Two ½ day fencing camps are being offered from April 9-13 for the beginning fencer. The morning camp is for children in grades 2-4 and is from 9:30-12:00. The afternoon camp is for children in grades 5-8 and is from 12:30-3:00.
All necessary equipment will be provided and professional coaches from the Rochester Fencing Club will be the instructors. Students will learn the rules of foil fencing, basics of footwork, blade work, and conditioning in a fun-filled atmosphere. There will be plenty of opportunity for students to fence one another. Students should dress as they would for a physical education class and bring a refillable water bottle.
Interested in a full-day camp experience? Students can register for either the Lego WeDo Robotics camp or the Intermediate Lego Mindstorms NXT. If children attend both camps they would bring a lunch to enjoy between camps and be under continuous supervision. Additional information about these Lego Robotic camps can be found in the brochure described below. Also, please feel free to visit the Lego Robotics site for more information.
To register for the April recess fencing class go to the Town of Brighton’s website at: www.townofbrighton.org, follow the link to the “Town Newsletter / Rec & Parks Brochure, select: “Winter/Spring Newsletter & Rec Brochure”. The fencing camp information will be found on page 16. The registration form is on page 39. Registration for this camp must be completed through the Town of Brighton Recreation Department.
