Learn to Fence

What is Learn to Fence?

Learn to Fence is the best way to learn the basics of fencing in order to step into one of our on going beginner level (youth, teen, and adult) classes. We will teach you the basic footwork and skills in order for you to get a beginner level understanding of the sport.

Learn to Fence runs on Saturday with four sessions. Classes are an hour and fifteen minutes. All equipment is provided by the Rochester Fencing Club!

How much does it cost?

Cost is $155.00 for each session (four classes) which includes the rental of fencing equipment. Please call the Rochester Fencing Club at 585.654.6047 or email us at susan@rocfencing.com for more information. Thank you for your interest in fencing!

Who can take Learn to Fence classes?

We have Learn to Fence programs for ages 6 to adult. For anyone with special needs please see “Learn to Fence One on One”.

Where do we meet?

The Rochester Fencing Club at 777 Culver Road, Upper Level, Rochester, NY 14609. To get directions please click here.

What will you need?

Just wear comfortable clothing, preferably not jeans, and wear enclosed shoes, not clogs, Crocs, or sandals. Bring a water bottle, a towel, and perhaps an extra shirt for after class.

What if I can’t make these dates or I am not good with group classes?

Learn to Fence One on One

If your schedule is not flexible and/or you think you would thrive best working with a coach one on one, please feel free to take part in our Learn to Fence 1:1 program. For $155 (Learn to Fence) you get four one on one lessons with one of our coaches. Please contact susan@rocfencing.com to book your one on one lessons today!

Sessions meet on Saturdays. Times of classes are separated by age group.
2:30-3:45pm (6-12 year olds)
4:00-5:15pm (13-17 year olds)
5:30-6:45pm (Adults)
*Please note that these times are subject to change. Please check the session below to see if there are any notes on time changes. There is time adjustment for Session 3.
