
Nat Goodhartz - Head Coach
Nat has a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from Ohio State University
and was a professor at SUNY, Brockport. She has also served as national
coach for junior men's foil and was the co-national coach for women's
foil until 2008. She coached the World Youth Games Team in 1998, Junior
Worlds from 1997-2001, US Olympic Festival teams in 1993-1995, and
several Senior World teams. She has coached numerous national
champions, members of World teams, and a member of the 2008 Olympic
team.
Jean-Raynaud Lao-Kan - 3 Weapon CoachJean-Raynaud has been the head coach at the ESC Fencing Club in
Colombes, Paris since September, 2006. Prior to his postion, he was a
Sports Exchange and Advisor for Akita Prefecture in Japan, where he
developed fencing in the Prefecture by organizing training camps and
selecting potential good fencers with the local head coach. he is a
native French speaker, but also speaks English, Japanese and
Hungarian. He received his education at La Martiniere Monplaisir
College in Lyon, France and at Lislet Geoffroy College in Sainte
Clotilde, Reunion-France.
Colin Clinton - Youth Development & Outreach DirectorColin graduated from Brandeis University with a degree in
psychology. He was the first alternate to the 1993 Men's Foil Cadet
World Team. He also qualified four times for the NCAA Championships,
taking All- American honors twice.
Elliott Clinton - Sabre CoachElliott has been involved with fencing for over 20 years. A
three-time USA team member and three-time National Champion, Elliott is
dedicated to bringing top class Sabre instruction to RFC. Elliott has
trained under some of the best coaches in the world and is excited to
bring his knowledge to Rochester.
Iris Zimmermann - OwnerIris is best known for setting records in the sport of fencing.
Not only was she was the first US fencer to win a world championship
medal, she was also the youngest ever to win that medal and the
youngest to win a national championships. In 2000, Iris made the
Olympic team with her sister Felicia Zimmermann and together they were
two points shy of winning the bronze medal for the United States. After
two more runs at the Olympics and graduating from Stanford University,
Iris is now a fencing coach at the Rochester Fencing Club. We are
excited to have our very own Olympian on staff.
Felicia Zimmermann - Co-OwnerFelicia is a two-time Olympian and the first U.S. fencer to achieve the World Cup overall championship in the under-20 category. She was the first and only woman to win NCAA championships in both foil and epee. A graduate of School of the Arts and Stanford University, Felicia Zimmermann works as a business consultant and currently lives in Dubai.
